Obedience Tales Dog Training has graduated over 1000 classes. Opened in 1993, it is the oldest obedience school in Rhode Island.

Brian Nicastro is the owner and head instructor. Brian became the owner of Obedience Tales in 1993 shortly after it opened. He has
over fiteen years of experience showing dogs and over twenty years experience instructing obedience classes.

    Memberships include:
  • Rhode Island State Sheriffs K9 Unit
  • Obedience Training Club of Rhode Island
  • Association of Pet Dog Trainers

Brian has put numerous AKC Obedience titles on dogs and is the recipient of the 1992-1993 Award of Canine Distinction from Dog World Magazine.

Brian is actively a Canine Good Citizen evaluator and Red Cross Pet First Aid and CPR instructor. He has always loved animals - he thrives on the gratification from teaching people how to cohabitate with their dogs.

Chooch is one of Brian's dogs and is the King of Obedience Tales.  He is trained in both advanced obedience and search and rescue.

He loves being a role-model for the students and demonstrates commands from Brian in class.

Amy was a student before joining the staff at Obedience Tales in July 2007. She started in a Beginner Obedience Class with her 11 month old lab mix, Hardy.  During the day, Amy works for Massachusetts General Hospital as a Lab Manager in the Cardiovascular Research Center studying zebra fish heart defects.

Amy’s love for animals has lead her to surround herself both at work and at home with them.  Amy looks forward to helping others develop better bonds with their dogs.

Hardy continues to attend Advanced Classes where he improves weekly.
